Our team operates from Anglesea, with tours spanning Geelong to the Otway Ranges.

Tours are guided by Simon, GORATS owner and professional photographer. With over 25 years of photography experience, Simon's career before GORATS included commercial, fashion, sport, events, weddings, editorial, festivals, landscape and art photography. Having lived in the Otways for over 30 years, Simon knows every secret spot. Use our 4WD, canoes, Bush Rat MTBs or hike to get your best shots with Simon as your personal guide and photography guru.
What is the Photo Time Tour?
Travellers, photo enthusiasts, corporate teams, are all welcome. You do not need crazy gear. Bring a phone, a mirrorless or a pro DSLR. We will match the pace, locations and experience to your goals so everyone learns and leaves with images they are proud of. ​

We shoot the Surf Coast, nearby Otway Ranges (with the option to extend further), from signature lookouts to tucked-away vantage points. Think golden hours, waterfalls, rock shelves, surf breaks and starry skies. When the conditions line up, surf photography is on the menu too. ​

These tours are private and built around you. We cater for small to large groups and everything in between. Choose your mode of adventure, hiking, 4WD, Bush Rat mountain biking or flat-water canoes, and we will meet on location and shape the route to suit. We have access to all modes of transport to get you to the best shots possible.

All safety equipment needed for your tour will be provided and our canoe and bike equipment is chosen for stability and reliability. You can focus on the experience, while we take care of everything else!

Every Photo Time Tour is tailored to you. Duration varies with your goals, the locations you want to shoot and the conditions on the day. There are endless places to explore, so some itineraries suit a full day while others are perfect for just a few hours. We keep the GORATS flexible approach you know from our other tours and shape the right plan for your group.
You also set the brief for learning. We coach everything from the basics of composition and exposure to advanced techniques such as long exposure and filter work, bracketing and focus stacking. Phone-only shooters get practical tips to get the best from their device, and night sessions include clear guidance for night photography. Whatever you choose, you get a fun, practical tour that matches your level and helps you come away with images you are proud of.
